With increased knowledge of the importance of coastal resources and environment, it is widely accepted that coastal repairing and cleaning is a main way to improve exploitation value of coastal resources and maintain the ecological and environmental function of coastal zones.This paper first reviews research progress in coastal resources and environment problem diagnosis, coastal repairing and cleaning engineering methods and technology, coastal repairing effect assessment.Technological problems with coastal repairing and cleaning engineering practice in China and future development requirements are then analyzed.At last the research prospects are sum up as follow:(1) coastal resources and environment problems mechanism and methods for damage degree evaluation.(2) coastal repairing and cleaning engineering technologies and manual preparation.(3) coastal repairing and cleaning engineering effect evaluation.(4) coastal repairing and cleaning engineering supervision technology.
