Abstract: Marine environmental monitoring is an essential foundation for the development and utilization of marine resources, and can provide important evidences for marine environmental protection. Germany has always stayed in the forefront of the world in the field of environmental protection techniques and scientific researches. It also established a great example for regional cooperation of marine environmental protection. In this article, marine administrative departments and the legal framework of marine environmental protection in Germany were introduced. Monitoring system, monitoring organizations and contents were also discussed in the aspect of marine ecological environment monitoring. Through analyzing the characteristics of marine environmental monitoring in Germany, suggestions were put forward for our marine environmental monitoring work.
