Abstract:
Basing on the fishery data from 2011 to 2013 in the north of South China Sea, we analysis the changes in fish catch rate and composition of the total catch of trawl fishery in the west Guangdong fishing ground (20.5N~21.5N,110.5E~111E) during typhoon Kai-tak.The results showed:(1) The week-average catch rate (WACR) in the first week after typhoon increased 1.34 times compared to the WACR in the week before typhoon. The increased WACR decreased to the value before typhoon after1week; (2)The main species changed from Sardinato Sardina, Mugilcephalus and Liza haematocheila. Two species Scomber and Collichthys which were not found before typhoonwere emerged after typhoon.while 3 fishes Setipinna, cuttlefish and Johnius were disappeared;(3)The proportion of catchweight of Mugilcephalus and Liza haematocheila, Trichiurus, and Squidto total weightincreased 1.85 times,2.4 times and 6.48 times. The proportion of catch weight of Sardina,Shrimp,Harpadon,Scomberomorus,Pseudosciaenapolyactis,Pampus and Crabto total weight decreased by 24.69%, 0.56%, 0.36%, 0.2%, 0.15%, 0.04% and 0.03%; (4) The value of species richness index decreased 0.04, while the value of Shannon-Wiener index and Pielouevenness index increased 0.12 and 0.04; (5)After typhoon, the recovery period for fish community in the study areamay be larger than one month.
