Abstract:
The effects of temperature, salinity and light intensity on nitrogen and phosphorusuptake of Sargassummcclurei in laboratory by single factor and orthogonal testwere investigated. The results showed that temperature, salinity and light intensity had significantly effect on nitrogen uptake of S.mcclurei(P0.05),the most favorable nitrogen uptake conditions for S.mcclurei were:temperature, ranging from 20℃ to 25℃; illumination, ranging from 60 mol/(m2s) to 140 mol/(m2s); salinity, ranging from 20 to 30.The phosphorus uptake of S.mcclurei were significantly affected by temperature and light intensity (P0.05),but not by salinity (P0.05),the optimal temperature ranged from 30℃ to 35℃ and the optimal illumination ranged from 60 mol/(m2s) to 100 mol/(m2s).The orthogonal test indicated that,of the three factors, temperature and light intensity were the main factors to affect nitrogen and phosphorus uptake of S.mcclurei, the highest value of uptake rate appeared when temperature, light intensity and salinity were 20℃~25℃,100 mol/(m2s) and 30,respectively.Therefore,S.mcclurei can effectively absorbing nutrient (including nitrogen and phosphorus) ambient. We can regulate the ability of S.mcclurei to absorbing nitrogen and phosphorus by altering the cultivation depth to adjusting light intensity. We can effectively reduce the degree of eutrophication in subtropical seas by large-scale cultivation of S.mcclurei.
