Abstract:
Sinopec Guangxi liquefied natural gas (LNG) project is the important national clean energy program introduced by Guangxi coastal region, and its defense capacity of marine natural disaster (MND) could directly influence the Guangxi economic development. This study investigated the design standard and status quo of LNG coastal defense project (CDP), analyzed the design standard and parameter of storm surge and ocean wave, and evaluated the MND defense capacity of each section by comparing the right theoretical CDP elevations with the measured ones. Results showed that evaluation results of both design high tide level and extreme high tide level in consideration of sea level exceeded the preliminary design value.Evaluation results of wave height in south by southeast (SSE) direction were greater than the designed values, and in other directions they were fairly equivalence. The measured minimum elevation of CDP in southeastern and southwestern section was lower than the evaluation value, which carried some risk, and the CDP in other sections could defense the MND to some extent.
