Abstract:
The water depth and its change of the dumping site are the important foundation for ocean dumping supervision and ocean dumping site capacity assessment, and are related to the safety of ship navigation. The amount of ocean dumping in China is increasing every year, and the contradiction between dumping demand and dumping site capacity is becoming increasingly prominent, which puts forward higher requirements for the accuracy, precision and standardization of sounding in the dumping site. There are some problems in sounding chapter of the existing dumping site selection and monitoring reports, such as disaccord vertical datum, nonstandard correction of water level, etc., which makes it difficult to effectively calculate the change of water depth and the capacity of ocean dumping site. In order to standardize sounding technology in the dumping site, and promote scientific and effective supervision of marine dumping, this paper puts forward some countermeasures, such as perfecting relevant technical standards, formulating site-specific sounding scheme for dumping site, and integrating sounding results into the supervision system.
