Abstract:
There were 231 red tide events collected during the last two decades from 2001 to 2019 in Fujian coastal waters, using statistical method to comprehensive analysis the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of the red tide in Fujian coastal waters. The result shows that the red tide displayed a distinctive spatial-temporal characteristics. The red tide occurred in April to July mainly, and the high incidence period was May to June. The red tide occurred in Ningde, Fuzhou, Pingtan and Xiamen coastal waters mainly. The primary red tide organisms were
Prorocentrum donghaiense,
Noctiluca sintillans,
Skeletonema costatum,
Chaetoceros sp. and
Karenia mikimotoi. The disastrous red tide were dinoflagellate which lead to the huge economic loss.
