Abstract:
A framework was proposed in this study to set coastal constructive setback line, in which the natural processes including coastal erosion and natural disaster were first considered to determine the distance of coastal constructive setback line, and then geospatial technology, ecosystem service evaluation, and scenarios analysis were coupled to finalize the coastal constructive setback line setting. This framework was further applied to Longhai, a coastal county-level city in Southeast China. Results show that the final coastal constructive setback line for sandy coastline, muddy coastline, bedrock coastline, biological coastline, and artificial coastline is 240 m, 240 m, 30 m, 220 m, and 30 m, respectively. This study might provide scientific support for coastal spatial planning in Longhai.
